Financial Modelling and Valuation
A financial modelling course on building integrated three-statement models in Excel and valuing businesses with DCF, WACC and comparables.
Course overview
Investment decisions, loan applications, privatisations and project approvals across the region increasingly rely on financial models. Poorly built models hide errors, confuse decision-makers and lead to costly mistakes. This financial modelling course teaches finance professionals to build clear, integrated models in Excel and to use them to value businesses and projects.
Participants start with good modelling practice: structure, layout, assumptions and error checks. They then build an integrated model that links the income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement, including debt schedules, revolving credit and circularity. The valuation part covers enterprise and equity value, comparable company and precedent transaction analysis, unlevered free cash flow, terminal value and the weighted average cost of capital, with attention to estimating the cost of equity in frontier markets. The week closes with sensitivity analysis, stress testing and presenting conclusions.
Participants leave with a fully working integrated model and valuation that they can adapt to their own work.
