Digital and Social Media Skills for Organisations
Social media skills training for staff who run organisational accounts: platforms, content, engagement, safety and measuring results.
Course overview
Ministries, county governments, NGOs and businesses now speak to the public first through social media. Many accounts, however, are run by staff with no formal training, leading to inconsistent messages, slow responses, security breaches and the occasional public embarrassment. This social media skills training gives the people behind organisational accounts the practical skills to run them professionally.
Participants learn how the main platforms used in the region differ in audience and purpose, and how to set objectives for each. They practise writing posts, creating simple graphics and short videos with free tools, planning content calendars and engaging with followers, including handling complaints and negative comments. The course covers account security, privacy and social media policies, accessibility, working within government communication rules, and spotting misinformation. Measuring results with platform analytics and reporting to management complete the week, with hands-on practice throughout.
Participants leave able to manage organisational social media accounts confidently, safely and with measurable results.
