Data Analytics and Business Intelligence for Recovered Asset Monitoring
An asset recovery data analytics course that shows finance teams how to clean, reconcile and analyse asset data to monitor and report recovered assets.
Course overview
Asset recovery agencies and asset management offices hold more data every year: seizure records, valuations, bank balances, rental income, disposal proceeds and court outcomes. Too often that data lives in separate spreadsheets that disagree with each other, so management cannot answer simple questions such as how much has been recovered, what it is worth today and what it costs to hold. This asset recovery data analytics course gives finance and monitoring staff the skills to fix that.
Participants learn to build a reliable asset dataset, reconcile it with the general ledger and case management records, and analyse it with Excel, Power Query and Power BI. The course covers data quality rules, exception reporting, ageing and holding-cost analysis, and simple indicators of performance for each asset class. Work is done on a realistic anonymised dataset of seized and forfeited assets, so every technique is practised on the kind of records participants manage at work.
The result is a team that can produce accurate, timely figures on recovered assets and spot problems such as missing assets, stale valuations or idle funds before an auditor does.
What you will be able to do
- Design a single, consistent dataset for seized, frozen and forfeited assets
- Apply data quality rules and resolve duplicates, gaps and inconsistent values
- Reconcile asset records with case files, bank statements and the general ledger
- Analyse asset ageing, holding costs and value changes by asset class
- Build exception reports that flag missing, stale or high-risk records
- Create interactive reports in Power BI for managers and boards
- Interpret analytical results and explain them to non-specialists
