Asset Recovery Inter-Agency Networks, Informal Cooperation and Asset Sharing Agreements
An asset recovery networks course on using inter-agency networks, domestic task forces and asset sharing agreements to recover more, faster.
Course overview
Most successful recovery cases depend on relationships: a contact point in another country who confirms where an account is held, a domestic task force that brings police, prosecutors and the revenue authority together, or an agreement that shares recovered assets fairly between states. This asset recovery networks course shows practitioners how to build and use those relationships deliberately.
Participants learn how regional asset recovery inter-agency networks such as ARIN-EA and ARINSA work, together with international networks and focal point systems, and how to send and answer requests through them. They study domestic coordination: inter-agency task forces, memoranda of understanding, joint case conferences and information-sharing arrangements. The final part covers asset sharing between states and between domestic agencies, including legal bases, negotiating shares and recording agreements. Participants practise drafting network requests and planning a joint operation with partners in two other countries.
Participants leave able to use networks and inter-agency arrangements to locate and recover assets more quickly.
