Real Estate Portfolio and Property Management for Forfeited Properties
A forfeited property management course on managing land, homes and commercial buildings as a portfolio: tenants, upkeep, income and disposal.
Course overview
Asset recovery agencies increasingly hold portfolios of forfeited and restrained properties: apartments, houses, plots, commercial buildings and farms. Managed passively, they become empty, occupied illegally or run down. Managed actively, they produce rental income and retain value until sale or reuse. This forfeited property management course teaches staff to run property holdings professionally.
Participants learn portfolio-level property management: building an accurate property register, assessing condition and risk, and setting a strategy for each property to hold, let, reuse or sell. They study tenancy management, rent collection, service charges, maintenance planning, security and insurance, and the use of property managing agents. The course covers specific challenges such as removing unlawful occupants, dealing with original owners still in residence, land encroachment and unpaid rates. Financial management, including budgets, rental income accounting and reporting, completes the week.
Participants leave able to manage forfeited property portfolios in a way that protects value and generates steady income.
