Inventory Control and Warehouse Management
A 10-day inventory and warehouse management course on stock control, forecasting, warehouse operations, safety and inventory technology.
Course overview
Too much stock ties up cash and goes to waste; too little stops operations and services. Hospitals running out of medicines, counties with expired stores and companies with cluttered warehouses all show the cost of weak inventory control. This inventory and warehouse management course gives stores and supply chain staff the skills to keep the right stock, in the right place, at the right cost.
The first week focuses on inventory control: the role of inventory, classification methods such as ABC and VED analysis, demand forecasting, reorder levels and safety stock, economic order quantities, stock valuation methods and stock-taking. The second week covers warehouse management: layout and space planning, receiving and dispatch, storage and handling, warehouse management systems and barcoding, health, safety and security, managing obsolete and expired stock, disposal, and performance measurement. Practical exercises use stock data from public and private organisations.
Participants leave able to control inventory accurately and run safe, efficient warehouses and stores.
