Integrated Risk Management and Governance of Recovered Asset Funds
A recovered asset fund governance course on board oversight, enterprise risk management and controls that keep recovered money safe and accountable.
Course overview
Recovered asset funds hold money taken from crime and promised to the public. That makes governance failures especially damaging: a conflicted appointment, an unapproved investment or a missing reconciliation can undo years of recovery work in one headline. This recovered asset fund governance course helps boards, managers and risk officers build the structures and habits that prevent such failures.
Participants examine governance models for recovered funds, from ring-fenced accounts within ministries to independent trusts and statutory funds, and the roles of boards, investment committees, management and auditors. The course then applies enterprise risk management to the whole fund: strategic, investment, operational, integrity, legal and reputational risks, together with risk appetite, registers, controls and assurance. Integrity receives particular attention, including conflicts of interest, political interference and the risk of assets returning to offenders. Participants work on a case fund facing a governance crisis and design the reforms needed to restore confidence.
Participants leave with a governance and risk framework they can benchmark their own fund against, and a prioritised improvement plan.
