Treasury, Cash and Liquidity Management for Recovered Asset Funds
A recovered funds treasury course on banking, cash forecasting, liquidity buffers and payment controls for money recovered from crime.
Course overview
Recovered asset funds receive money irregularly, from forfeiture orders, auction proceeds and international returns, and must pay out for compensation, projects, transfers and running costs. Without disciplined treasury management, money sits idle in low-interest accounts or, worse, is exposed to weak banks and payment fraud. This recovered funds treasury course gives fund staff the practical skills to manage cash well.
Participants learn to structure bank accounts for recovered funds, including segregation of custodial and owned funds, and to manage banking relationships and counterparty limits. They practise cash flow forecasting for irregular receipts and payments, setting liquidity buffers and placing surplus cash safely in deposits and short-term instruments. Payment controls receive close attention: authorisation, dual control, verification of beneficiaries and protection against payment fraud. The course also covers foreign currency receipts from repatriated assets, reconciliation and treasury reporting.
Participants leave able to manage recovered fund cash securely and efficiently, with clear controls and reports.
