Electronic Document and Records Management Systems (EDRMS)
EDRMS training on planning, configuring and running electronic document and records management systems that staff actually use.
Course overview
Organisations across the region are moving from paper registries to electronic document and records management systems, often as part of e-government programmes. Many implementations disappoint: systems are bought but not adopted, records are scattered across email and shared drives, and digital files lack the controls that make them trustworthy. This EDRMS training helps records and ICT staff plan and run systems that work.
Participants learn the difference between document management and records management, the functional requirements of an EDRMS, and relevant standards for digital records and metadata. They practise defining requirements, designing classification and metadata, setting access controls and retention rules, and planning digitisation of existing paper records. The course covers selecting and implementing a system, migrating content, integrating with email and other business systems, training users and managing change. Digital preservation, security, data protection and audit trails are addressed throughout.
Participants leave able to plan, implement and manage an EDRMS that keeps digital records reliable and accessible.
