HR Audit: Assessing Compliance, Effectiveness and Risk
An HR audit course on reviewing HR policies, records, payroll and practices for compliance, effectiveness and people-related risk.
Course overview
HR failures are costly: unlawful terminations, unpaid statutory deductions, ghost workers on payroll, and policies that exist on paper but not in practice. An HR audit finds these problems before regulators, courts or auditors do. This HR audit course teaches HR practitioners and auditors how to plan and conduct a thorough review of the HR function.
Participants learn the purpose and types of HR audit, from compliance reviews to strategic effectiveness audits, and how to plan an audit using risk assessment. They practise reviewing organisation structures and establishments, HR policies, personnel files, contracts, recruitment and promotion records, payroll and statutory contributions, leave, training and performance records. The course covers employment law compliance checks, payroll audit techniques such as headcount verification, data analysis of HR records, and benchmarking HR metrics. Reporting findings and following up on corrective action complete the week.
Participants leave able to plan and conduct HR audits that strengthen compliance and reduce people-related risk.
