Human Resource Management and Administration
A 10-day human resource management course covering planning, recruitment, performance, employee relations, HR records and administration.
Course overview
Effective human resource management underpins everything an organisation achieves, from service delivery to financial performance. HR officers in the region must balance strategic demands with daily administration, all within changing employment law. This human resource management course gives a complete, practical grounding across the HR cycle.
Over two weeks, participants work through workforce planning, job design, recruitment and onboarding, learning and development, performance management, and reward. The second week covers employee relations and discipline, health, safety and wellbeing, HR policies and records, HR information systems and data protection, separations and exit, and the measurement of HR effectiveness. Employment law and good practice are woven through each topic, with examples from public and private organisations in East Africa. Practical exercises build a toolkit of templates and procedures that participants can adapt for their workplaces.
Participants leave able to manage the full range of HR activities competently and in line with law and good practice.
