Transformational Leadership and Governance

A 10-day transformational leadership and governance course for leaders driving organisational change, culture and accountable reform.

10 days (2 weeks) Classroom, online or in-house QR-verified certificate Next intake 19 Oct 2026

Course overview

Public institutions and companies across Africa are under pressure to transform: to digitise services, change cultures, root out corruption and deliver more with less. Such transformation needs leaders who can inspire people towards a new vision while strengthening the governance that keeps change accountable. This transformational leadership and governance course develops senior leaders for that dual task.

The first week focuses on transformational leadership: vision and purpose, inspiring and empowering people, leading culture change, building coalitions for reform, innovation and digital transformation, and leading through resistance. The second week focuses on governance for transformation: governance structures and accountability, boards and transformation oversight, ethics and integrity during reform, risk in change programmes, stakeholder and citizen engagement, measuring transformation and sustaining results. Case studies of reform efforts in the region illustrate what drives success and failure. Each participant develops a transformation plan for their institution.

Participants leave able to lead accountable transformation that changes how their organisations work and perform.
